Andreas Obst leads Germany to win over USA

Obst scores 24 points, Wagner adds 22

Andreas Obst scored 24 points and Franz Wagner added 22 as Germany defeated the United States 109-106 in an exhibition game on Sunday. It was the first time that Germany has ever defeated the United States in a men's basketball game.

Germany led by as many as 15 points in the second half, but the United States rallied to tie the game with just over two minutes remaining. However, Obst hit a jumper with 1:05 left to give Germany the lead for good.

The United States was led by Jayson Tatum, who scored 27 points. James Harden added 20 points and Jrue Holiday had 19.

The United States will next play in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Germany will play in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
